Last night, my college-age niece lost her best friend in a car accident. I was typing away about ‘perspective’ on my blog this morning when I heard the news. My heart hurts. For my niece Alyssa. For her friend Krysten’s family. I cannot even begin to understand the depth of her mama’s sorrow. The death of someone so young & with so much life ahead of them, is tragic & heartbreaking & so very difficult to understand.
It reminds me
that we do not know the length of our days.
James 4:4 says, “Why, you do not even know
what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a
little while and then vanishes.”
Perspective?
Whether we have 20 years or 90, we all have
the choice to make each moment count. To take the brief dash of time God gives us to
make an impact on those around us.
Love. Grace. Forgiveness. Joy. Thankfulness.
Peace. Love.
We are but a mist.
Let’s live
life today, in light of the legacy we will leave behind.
