God, investigate my life;
get all the facts firsthand.
I’m an open book to you;
even from a distance, you know what I’m thinking.
You know when I leave and when I get back;
I’m never out of your sight.
You know everything I’m going to say
before I start the first sentence.
I look behind me and you’re there,
then up ahead and you’re there, too—
your reassuring presence, coming and going.
This is too much, too wonderful!
get all the facts firsthand.
I’m an open book to you;
even from a distance, you know what I’m thinking.
You know when I leave and when I get back;
I’m never out of your sight.
You know everything I’m going to say
before I start the first sentence.
I look behind me and you’re there,
then up ahead and you’re there, too—
your reassuring presence, coming and going.
This is too much, too wonderful!
I can’t take it all in!
Psalm 139:1-6
Some years ago I happened across this quote--Something about it resonated in my soul.
I am so thankful for the little things… the simple things…
they are my favorite.
Good coffee in a mug painted by my daughter-in-law.
Oatmeal on a chilly morning.
My Bible. (the Message version)
Leather bound journals.
Sharp pencils.
Deep conversations about spiritual things with my husband.
Silence.
Sunshine.
Writing.
Books.
Frye boots.
Turquoise jewelry.
Holding hands.
Long distance phone calls.
Laughing with my kids.
Homemade pizza.
Dinner out with my girlfriends.
Flannel pajamas.
Fuzzy slippers.
Red wine & really good chocolate.
Little things. Simple things. Good things.
Precious gifts from an intimate God who knows my heart.
