Eucharisteo Day Five... the Gospel

Jesus said,
“’Love the Lord your God with all your passion & prayer & intelligence.’
This is the most important, the first on any list.
But there is a second to set alongside it.
‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’
These two commandments are pegs,
everything in God’s Law & the Prophets hangs from them.”
–Matthew 22:37-40(the Message)

I am thankful for the gift of the Gospel.

I love the radical teachings of Jesus. I think we often forget how simple the Gospel is. Instead we make it into a putrid, bloated, monstrous thing with complicated rules, weighty traditions & cumbersome legalism. Harsh? Maybe... but consider this...

In Matthew 11, Jesus asks us, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me & you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me & work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me & you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Which one resonates in your heart?
What does your faith look like?

Does it love God & love others?

Cause that is IT people.

We need to give up the preconceived ideas we have of religion & lay them at the feet of our savior… Picking pick up His precious grace gift to us & begin to pour it out onto others.

Love God. Love Others.

Simple.
Beautiful.
Perfect.
Gospel.
